Additional teacher support

Mr Alexander Wood

Alexander Wood was a great help for our hardware project. He was crucial for our understanding of Square Wave Voltammetry and the design of our potentiostat. We thank him very much for coming into school early on multiple occasions.

Dr Pattison

Dr Pattison has provided us with crucial guidance for our human practices. We thank her greatly for the many words of wisdom.

Mr Zivanic

Luis and his lab, at the department for microbial biotechnology in Spain, created the synthetic adhesin that we used in our system. As well as providing clarification and help over email his team sent us over the modified strain of E. coli for no extra charge. Our lab work would quite literally been non existent without his help.

Academics

Orlando-Hoilett Purdue university

Orlando was the original creator of the kickstart potentiostat. Both him and his team helped us with the understanding of their potentiostat and we thank them greatly for answering all our questions.

Dr Xinhui Lou (CNU China)

Professor Xinhui was our key point of contact when it came to discussing signal probe displacement aptasensors. Her expertise on square wave voltammetry and electrode treatment protocols were a huge help.

Luis Angel Fernandes

Luis and his lab created the synthetic adhesin that we used in our system. As well as providing clarification and help over email his team sent us over the modified strain of E. coli for no extra charge. Our lab work would have been non existent without his help.

Lab technicians

We are very lucky at City to have a great number of amazing lab technicians who order and organise all our equipment prior performing experiments. Despite the chaotic nature of this year’s lab work, we thank our lab technicians greatly for all the support they provided during term time.

University students

Imperial (Gabriel Swallow)

Gabriel and his team at Imperial were a huge help with our modelling. They highlighted some key issues with our Total Cocaine Breakdown model. Please see our collaborations page for full details.

Sammy Lovat

Sammy has been extremely helpful throughout our project. Playing a large role in the CLSB 2017 team, he has given us valuable, and at times, brutally honest feedback which has allowed the success of our project. We thank him greatly for all the hours, often very early in the morning, he spent mentoring us over the past year.

Wiki

All images which we did not produce ourselves have been attributed. Those images for which we did not have official licenses, we obtained permission to reproduce from the rights holder.

Lower years

Zayaan Daad

Zayaan was a our chief lower years liason. As a fifth former himself, he managed to get both Jian Hui (our camera man) and Gautam to join the team, without whom our project would most definietly not be complete. A big thanks for all his help.

Toby Cohen

Toby has greatly helped Jian Hui with our video work by carrying much of the equipment all around school. We thank him very much for the many hours of intense labour.
