Our team believes that DNA storage is a trend of storing information in the future. In the last 10 years, the cost of DNA synthesis has dropped a lot while the speed has increased. We think that in near future, DNA storage will be used practically, instead of just inside labs.
So we want to share our codes and algorithm design to future iGEM groups. Our algorithm covers coding method for images, texts and waveforms. T hough we design some of the algorithm for medical data, the main part of our algorithm can be used in other fields.(For example, the coding algorithm for waveforms can be used for coding music! This is also a frontier research field). We hope our code can help with future teams interested in DNA storage. With these code, these teams can spend more time on experiments, which we didn't have condition to complete this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
