Our Team

  • Mika Yokota
    Team Leader
Hey, this is Mika, team leader of iBowu-China 2020. I'm a member of PD and HP. But, to be honest, I hop in where ever manpower is needed, as that is, unfortunately (just kidding), the responsibility of the team leader. Honestly, the whole iGEM experience has been incredible, I won't ever want this to end! Besides iGEM, I love sports. I'm an outside hitter on the varsity vball team; find me if you want to play!
  • Angela Zheng
    Team Leader & Design Leader
Hi! I’m Angela (a.k.a. the deadline fighter), the co-leader of team iBowu-China 2020, and Design group leader. As a first year iGEMer, iGEM has became something I love! iGEM has challenged me to be a risk-taker, but it has also allowed me to develop new skills and grow as a person! I can't wait to "see" everyone at the Virtual Giant Jamboree.
  • Wendy Zhang
    PD Leader
This is Wendy, a student from RDFZ ICC. This year, I developed a better understanding of the mysterious and exciting discipline of synthetic biology. Besides gaining expertise, iGEM also promotes cooperation and responsibility. It’s great meeting a group of funny and insightful people with the same interest. I’ m having a really good time working with my teammates!
  • Lucas Ji
    PD Leader
Hey everyone! I am Lucas, co-leader of the PD group. I'm a first year iGEMer and I am very excited about this competition. I don't think I got any fun facts. If there's anything you would want to know about me, it’ll probably be that I enjoy music from Coldplay and Queen; those are my two favorite bands. Elton John would be the best singer. Yeah, pretty much it. I am looking forward to talk to you all!
  • Virginia Du
    PD Leader
Hey, I’m Virginia, a Grade 10 student from The Affiliated High School of Peking University. I’m a member of PD and modeling, and was involved in video editing. I enjoy all kinds of outdoor activities and my favorite is definitely bird-watching. As a first-year iGEM, some work is challenging to me, but I’m willing to learn throughout the competition!
  • Atom Wang
    HP Leader
This is Atom Wang. I got the name long before I ever started studying chemistry. Perhaps this name is what binds me up with iGEM. I started learning chem and bio not so long ago and feel really passionate about them. I am the HP group co-leader, and we’ve done so many cool and amazing things, please check them out! Feel free to follow us on Instagram and delight yourself with our funny pictures and project updates.
  • Curtis Lyu
    HP Leader
Hey everyone! I am Curtis. This is my first year participating in this competition. I love biology very much because I think it can promote the development of the human race, which will greatly impact our daily lives. This year, I am the director of this year's Ximalaya Broadcast Project. And, in my spare time, I like to listen to music.
  • Aaron Zhong
    Modeling Leader
Hi there, this is Aaron, co-leader of the modeling group. I am a student from RDFZ ICC. I love microbiology as well as synthetic biology. iGEM is a good opportunity for me to develop my leadership abilities and experiment skills. It is also a pleasure to work with my teammates. I'm ready for the great adventure in biology! Fun fact: I’m a super fan of Anime! 私は麻衣さんが大好きです!

I love reading books and watching movies, food is my favorite.
  • Nicky Liu
    Wiki Leader
Hi, I’m Nicky, co-leader of the Wiki group. I am around 15 to 16 years old. I can't remember clearly. The most important subjects to me are mathematics and computer programming. You can see this from my receding hairline and my insufficient hair volume. I also have lots of other hobbies, like reading and traveling. However, it is embarrassing to say that my favorite hobby of all time is sleeping.
  • Zian Liu
    Wiki Leader
Hi! I'm Zian, co-leader of the Wiki group. I am from Beijing Harrow International School. My favourite subjects are business studies and programming. I enjoy the process of creation and discovery, especially in biology. This is my first year participating in iGEM; I look forward to experiencing this journey with all fellow participants. Good luck to everyone!

Hey everybody! (no, this is not Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse). My name is Aaron, a 15-year-old student and an entertainer-researcher. I tend to produce work that functions both as science and entertainment. I am also the team's video director and editor, making videos to show how cool our work is while enjoying the process. I hope you’ll like our team’s project! Aaron over and out!
  • Alice Fang
    Member
Hey there! I am Alice. I am fascinated by science, especially biology and chemistry. At the same time, I enjoy going out and playing sports of all kinds - water sports in particular. But, I lose the plot when I do too many sports. Additionally, pop music is a crucial part of my life. Big fan of Conan Gray right now.
  • Angela Zhang

Hi everyone! I'm Zhang Yifei from the International Department of Beijing No.2 Middle School. My favorite food is fried dumplings. I also like drawing, but I find it difficult sketching people. My favorite color is the green shade that symbolizes forgiveness; I've always wanted a green sweater embroider full of "forgiveness". Also, I absolutely love to stay at home - my ultimate dream.

My name is Wei Yaxuan. My English name is Anna. I am currently a Grade 10 student from RDFZ ICC. I’ve always been fascinated about science, especially pathology and synthetic biology. Participating in this competition has allowed me to understand genetics further and has bettered my collaboration skills.

Hi everyone! I’m Dino, a 15 year old grade 9 student at The Affiliated High School of Peking University. My interests include singing, piano, etc. I also enjoy biology, so I really cherish the opportunity I have with iGEM. But because I’ve only recently been introduced to this enigmatic science, please help me out in areas where I am not yet proficient! Highly appreciated!

Hello, I'm Emily Wei. I am a student of Princeton International School of Mathematics and Science. I am outgoing and talkative, and I love to laugh very much. I have a positive attitude towards everything. My hobbies include dancing, singing, and participating in sports such as badminton, volleyball, tennis, and track. • Matthew Tang

Hi everyone! My name is Matthew Tang. I am 15 years old. I play the piano, play golf, and do a lot of other things too! Sometimes I laugh so hard it’s random. And, even though 2020 has been an awkward year, it is also great. I have met all my teammates who have helped me better understand synthetic biology. I believe, together, we can change the world!
  • Sophia Guan
    Member
Hey everyone, I'm Sophia. I'm an all-time lemonade fan, but can be treacherous for apple juice. My all-time dream is to draw, but these hands of mine are not talented enough. And I really don't enjoy sports or mathematics... Another fact about me: I'm basically a pro at losing random stuff and an "amnesia patient". My ultimate DREAM is to open a cat café.
