Rana studies Molecular biology and bioinformatics. Beside her curiosity towards biological sciences especially virology & cancer biology, she believes in the power of multi-disciplinary teamwork. She is a team leader, circuit designer, creative writer, and PR specialist. Rana is responsible for designing our SARS-CoV-2 like particles delivery system. Also, she ensures that we spread this knowledge from the lab to the world, so she participated in creating an interactive and informative content for our Syn-Bio game.

Salma Ebrahim Abou Elhassan

Major: Molecular and Cell Biology

Interests: Scientific writing, Programming, Photography, Mystery Books, and Volleyball.

Salma studies Biology with concentrations in Molecular and Cell Biology. She is also minoring in Bioinformatics. She finds synthetic biology to be incredibly stimulating because of its intuitive nature and palpable impact on the world. Salma believes in the power of scientific research since high school and its impact on treating lethal diseases. She is interested in Immunology and Tumor Biology, in particular, hoping one day she could relieve patients suffering. About her role in the iGEM competition, she has contributed to the circuit design and characterization through creating 2 de novo siRNA sequences targeting SARS-CoV-2 replicase mRNA. She has also helped with the game design, Wiki writing, Molecular Cloud competition, and Human Practices in which she has created a crisis simulation to mimic the severe consequences of synthetic biology if it went wrong.

Abd-Elrhman Elsadany is a senior mechanical engineering student at The American University in Cairo. Abd-Elrhman has more than three years of experience in mechanical systems, and graphic design. He is the graphic designer in AUC-EGYPT iGEM where he is responsible for all the artwork, including branding and designing different layouts (for the wiki and the poster).

Biography: Abdurrahman studies biology and Mass Communication. He is interested in Science writing and communication. He has previous experience in written media through The Arabic edition of "Nature". He is helping with the media and outreach of the team. Moreover, he is helping in creating audience specified content to reach more people to communicate our idea.

Dalia is a Computer Engineering student with a double minor in Electronics and Business. She is interested in game design and development. To pursue her interest, she joined the game design committee as a game developer. She must develop an educational game app that helps in communicating synthetic biology to the public.

Kareem is a computer engineering student at the AUC. He has been fond of computers since he was very young, and now he is interested in technology and its integration in entrepreneurship. He is mostly responsible for the development of the wiki.

Hello everyone, my name is Mina Ashraf, a computer engineering junior. I love to build applications, then hack into them. I also love to do buy bounties in my free time. This year, I am one of the wiki developers and a member of the software team for AUC-EGYPT iGEM team.

Mohamed is always passionate about having new experiences, broadening my thinking, and expanding my worldview. He was assigned to join the Bio-entrepreneurship committee to make a business model for our project and to the Human Practices committee to try to generate ideas of how to engage and be actively in touch with our surrounding community to make sure that our project serves the concerned communities in an appropriate way.

Mohammad Monir is a junior student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in chemistry and a minor in economics. Actually, He is a science-oriented researcher characterized with a strong history in leadership and entrepreneurship fields. This year, I work for AUC-Egypt iGEM team in order to support the human practices part in addition to writing some parts of the wiki.

Norhan is a senior Actuarial science student with minor in Economics. She loves reading and writing. She is a part of the modeling team, and she is particularly responsible for structuring the mathematical model that describes the biological system.

Sawsan studies Business with a concentration in marketing. She is also interested in psychology, writing and biology among other areas. She has experience writing poetry for AUC Times and writing & editing posts for the literature club. She is mainly part of the bio entrepreneurship team testing the commercial viability of our therapy and she also supports our human practices.
