There are areas of the ocean where low levels of iron limits the ability of phytoplankton to grow. To tackle this problem, we are taking naturally occurring mutations and bringing them together into one phytoplankton strain.
This strain will then be able to grow in low-iron regions of the ocean where it can help combat global warming by absorbing CO2 through photosynthesis
