Team Collaborations
We attended the iGEM UK virtual meet-up run by the St Andrew's iGEM team. The purpose of the meet-up was for UK teams to share their project progression so far and identify areas of potential collaboration with other teams.
At the meet-up we met University College London iGEM team who are working on a microbial fuel cell (which degrades PET as fuel to generate electricity for water desalination). We spoke with them about the possibility of collaborating on lab work or modelling related to plastic degradation, in case we went with our compostable plastic idea.
