GuangZhong Zhang
Hi, in case you don’t know, I am John, one of the student leaders of this iGEM team, for the most part as a nerd, I’ve never left my room except for going to school. Since I have so much time on my hand, I decided to take on medicine for my bachelor course, which is a choice I never regretted, and is the exact reason why I am here. Because of the time I spent on the computer, I am able to do many work involving the network. As the student leader, I may not be particularly good at management, but thanks to the other captain doing the PR work, I am able to focus the contest not only academically, but also efficiently.
Jacqueline Wu
My name is Jacqueline Wu. I am 16 years old and study in Jinan Foreign Language High School. I am going for business or social science in the future. In the past 4 years, I spend most of my time on classroom learning. What’s extremely interesting to me is social psychology so I have read Philip G Zimbardo course and internal medicine. I like to ride, play Legos and read the English poetry in my free time. Also, I am a contributor to a public account called lighthouse. It’s really a valuable experience to participate in the iGEM project and make something that is related to our real life and meaningful to the society.
Song Shanglin
Hello everyone! My name is Song Shanglin and my English name is Jeremy. In my spare time, I am fond of watching movie, listening to music, playing basketball and reading scientific magazines. When I was young, I started to dream to become a scientist in biology to study medicine to save people’s life. This dream has been with me till now. In Jinan Foreign Language School, I choose the physics, chemistry, biology to be my selective course in order to have an advanced study in bio-medical science in university. In the first year in high school, I had learned many things about IGEM and I also knew that many outstanding alumni who study chemistry once took part in the competition, they all felt satisfied. I really want to study biology knowledge and develop the experience of cooperating by taking part in IGEM. Best wish to me！
Sha Yinuo
My name is Sha Yinuo, and my English name is Shaina. Now I study in Jinan Foreign Language School, year 11. Talking about my hobbies in daily life, it is one of my dream to become a zoologist and study zoology in the university, so I love reading books about biology, and zoology especially. Watching documentaries about nature in leisure time is also a good choice for me, the knowledge I get from them are some I will never know in real life. When hearing that iGEM competition can give me a better place to find the wonder of biology and a higher platform to have communication with professional people, my curiosity and interest were aroused. I really hope to improve myself in the area of biology and take this opportunity to find more people who have similar interests with me.

My name is Guangyi Lu, and my English name is Edward. I am a 16-year-old student studying in JNFLSIC, which is really famous for its democratic atmosphere and advanced educational equipment comparing to other schools in Shandong province. As for my personal interests, actually I really interested in chemistry and computer programming. I’m really interested in chemistry because I have plenty of resources to conduct experiments. Besides, I started to play video games in an early age. So I really affectionate computer programming. In the future, I tend to choose careers about chemistry or computer. The purpose I take part in iGEM competition is to prove my ability in computer modeling.

I’m Alfred, a great fan of arknights (hypergryph)~ Major is determined to be biochemistry because...I may have no talents in other subjects (NO CHINESE! NO LITERATURE). Although they believe that I have a great passion in studying, actually, I’m not. The only thing that raise my interest must be the fascinating plots and impressive animations in video games. They act like drugs which stimulate me to release dopamine ~There may be some pathways in my brain for them already.

My name is Zang Yinuo and my English name’s Flora. I’m 16 years old. I’m an outgoing person who likes to make friends with others. I really love music and sports. I enjoy playing the piano and swimming in my free time. They tempered my willpower and shaped my character.
I’m really interested in biology, especially the field of gene, brain, virus, diseases and so on and I hope to learn biology or biochemistry in the future. I think biology has a very close relationship with the environment and ways to fight against various diseases and these are two topics that humans most concern about nowadays. It is a subject that will make big contributions to the humanity and I hope I could do something to make the world a better place.

Hi, I’m Li shufan, Catherine, studying in Jinan Foreign Language School International Center. Fascinated by biology, I chose to major in Biology in the future. Since I started biological experiment report in junior high, I began to be interested in biology until I chose biology course in senior high to lay the foundation for my future study. I also love doing speech since it’s a way to get a message out and express myself. In my spare time, I will do some film reviews to get relaxation, which was inspired by my grandmother. For my personality, I’m firm about my goals and considerate of my friends. The secret of success is constancy of purpose and there’s always a light inside all of us, which are all my favorites.

So I'm very interested in biology.for me, the significance of biology is not only that it is a natural science or life science, but also that it is necessary for human beings to better understand themselves and the world through it. It is necessary for human beings to know how their body work, it is necessary to learn how to live in harmony with nature, and it is necessary to protect biological diversity and ecological environment.
IGEM is an activity that students majoring in biochemistry in our school will participate in every year. When I just entered our school, I learned about this activity from my biology teacher and always wanted to join in this activity to explore. I think this activity is not only interesting but also meaningful. We can learn a lot about molecular biology and experimental skills by conducting experiments under the guidance of teachers.
Chang Han
I am a first-year undergraduate student at the University of Chicago majoring in biology, also a lover of VOCALOID, VTuber and Hegel’s philosophy. I have long regarded DNA as the language of God. DNA consists of numerous intriguing and random permutations of nucleotides, just like phrases and words, and by deciphering these molecules, it is like deciphering a language. I hope to utilize the power of this “God’s language” to serve humanity. To this end, I decided to delve into synthetic biology, a fascinating interdisciplinary branch of biology that makes quantified, standardized, and modularized bioengineering possible, and devote myself to team JNFLS since 2018.

I am Yuhan sun, a senior student at Jinan Foreign Language School International Center. I was the team leader of iGEM 2019-JNFLS which had been awarded the golden prize. It is my great honor to back to the competition as a student advisor. My curiosity and exploration of synthetic biology are incessant. I believed that our bio-mask will help us overcome the pandemic and make our world be unimaginably amazing in the future.
