Public Engagement
In order to engage with new groups outside academia, we searched for opportunities to talk and educate more people about synthetic biology. We were able to talk on the WIPR 940AM Radio where we were able to draw attention from the public that work in the agriculture area. Likewise we participated in a show called The Mornings with Joel Rivera. In the interview transmitted via Facebook Live, we conversed about our past and current projects with synthetic biology.
After winning our Molecular Cloud sponsorship in May, we were asked to do an interview via Instagram Live. In this interview we were capable of communicating our experiences with synthetic biology and how we proposed to implement it in Puerto Rico.
We have been working with other newsletter such as "Pulso Estudiantil" and they are currently working in our report. Also, we had the honor of being in our own university newsletter “Prensa RUM” where they reviewed our SYNBIO 101 Summer Camp. You can access the report here.
