Juliette Champaud
Juliette Champaud
Course: Natural Sciences
Juliette specializes in Medical Physics and Neuroscience. She
joined iGEM because she's super keen to learn about a new
biological field and contribute to the team using her modelling
and computing skills.
Fun fact:
She's a sprinter for the UCL athletics team and running is how
she decompresses after a long week!
Oliver Fernandez Hernandez
Oliver Fernandez Hernandez
Course: Biochemistry
Oliver applied to iGEM to help him figure out if research is
the path he wants to follow, make something tangible and
practically useful, learn about how to play lego with DNA and
meet some cool people on the way.
Fun fact: He's the olympic weightlifting captain
at UCL, but he also loves a hug.
Daniel Castellano Garrido
Daniel Castellano Garrido
Course: Biochemistry
Daniel applied to iGEM to better understand
how to target real world problems using synthetic biology. He is
passionate about engineering living organisms to impact modern society.
What he likes the most about iGEM is our diverse team
which allows us to learn from each other.
Fun fact: A key component of Science is curiosity, which is
why he loves cats.
Anna Su
Anna Su
Course: Biochemical Engineering
Anna is passionate about interdisciplinary research and particularly
enjoys using computer programming to facilitate Molecular Biology
studies. She is thrilled to apply engineering and scientific principles
to tackle real world problems in iGEM.
Fun fact: A snippet of Anna's
weekend: half a bottle of wine followed by coding or reading the
latest bio news!
Pedro Lovatt Garcia
Pedro Lovatt Garcia
Course: Molecular Biology
Pedro is passionate about solving real-world problems through
biology. He changed degree course this year from biochemistry to
free up credits for more applied modules, so iGEM was the perfect
extension to this switch.
Fun fact: He loves combat
sports and competes with the UCL Muay Thai Club
Laide Ibiyemi
Laide Ibiyemi
Course: Biochemical Engineering
Laide is interested in engineering
organisms to solve global challenges. She's keen to learn about
all aspects of synthetic biology from cloning to computational
modelling and is happy to have contributed with her modelling and
programming skills.
Fun fact:
She likes to crochet to relax and unwind after a stressful week.
Stefan Hristov
Stefan Hristov
Course: Molecular Biology
This specimen is Stefan and his natural habitat is the laboratory,
where he feels at peace. He views the Synthetic Biology field as a playground ripe
with solutions for all sorts of problems and ready to be explored!
He hopes to contribute to the practical aspect of this years' iGEM
competition and use his photography-inspired tips to offer style to
the project.
Fun fact: He loves photography!
Li Xu
Li Xu
Course: Bioprocessing of New Medicines
Li decided to participate in iGEM becuase he enjoys working in
teams and playing around with synthetic BioBricks.
Fun fact: He is really easily inspired. One important
inspiring motto of him comes from UCL Engineering: Change the world!
