iGEM Resource Hub
Our team is proud to share with iGEM our Resource Hub, a page dedicated to sharing all the best programs and services available for iGEM teams as they work to build their device and prepare for the competition. This idea began at the Mid-Atlantic Meetup when we chose to share with other teams some of the ways we were working online when not allowed in the lab (special thanks to the William and Mary team for hosting the Meet-up). The response we got from this section of our presentation showed us that there was a lot of disconnect in the best ways to go about iGEM, so we decided to fill this need and create a hub for resources, based on function and accessibility. After talking to Nemanja Stijepovic and Leandros Tsiotos of the Video and Remote Technologies Committee about the perceived need for this resource, we created a plan to compile resources used and enjoyed by teams and compile the best into a single page. Their continued guidance and dialgue in supporting remote technology helps to shape the way we organzied and discuessed these resources from the beginning. We presented our original list in the Global Meet Up, sharing the tools we had found most useful and how they allowed us to adapt to a summer spent outside the lab. Following this presentation, we distributed a survey where other iGEM teams could respond and tell us about the resources they found most useful. From the submissions and our own research, we built this document as a tool for all future iGEM teams to utilize. With this method, we believe we've started the basis for a page that can continue to grow, and it is thanks to the iGEM teams that gave us feedback and shared their resources. The survey is linked in the introduction of the moving pdf below, and we urge all teams to continue providing suggestions for expanding this list, and we hope future teams will find this hub useful in their endeavors.
