Anna had been in the process of sorting out stash (e.g. clothing/stationary with our logo on it) - today we voted on which stash we wanted to order.
Lab Work
Ariane, Eloise and Matthew miniprepped the destination vector px1834 from transformed E. coli DH5alpha then cloned it for use in B. sub. Unfortunately due to a mistake in following the protocol, the final pellet (containing the vector) from the centrifuged E. coli was thrown away instead of the substrate so we had to repeat this miniprep later.
Team Collaborations
Anna sent an email to the AshesiGhana iGEM team highlighting the possibility for collaboration since we learned from UCL that they are working on bio-concrete, a project very similar to ours. They got back to us the same day stating that they would be interested in collaborating with us.
