Adam finished the final title/abstract then ran it past the supervisors. Chloe emailed it back with a few changes.
Lab Work
Adam and Anna conducted an experiment to see whether the carbonic anhydrase produced by the protein expression strain of E. coli we transformed would precipitate CaCO3. They mixed 150uL of carbonic anhydrase (with a concentration of 191uG/mL) into a solution of 1M calcium chloride. They made 6 tubes of solution - one for each protein fraction (tubes 1-3), one tube containing the flow through fraction, one tube containing the washed fraction, and one as a negative control which just had buffer (Tris-HCL) and no protein. The solutions were then left in a CO2 incubator for 3 days.
