Hydrogels and Modelling

Everyone working on hydrogel (and Adam) had a meeting with Chloe at 11am to decide whether or not to use Polyethylene glycol (PEG) hydrogel. In the meeting, the synthetic hydrogels EMPS and TEMED were compared with agarose and agar and we decided it was probably best to use the latter because they don't interact with calcium carbonate, have high water content and are bio-compatible.

Pazzy finished writing a paper about hydrogel mechanics, viewable here.

Science Communication and Outreach

Izzy worked on painting two-page spread for children's book.
