We had a team meeting to discuss what point we were at in terms of meeting deadlines and medal criteria. We delegated parts of the wiki to members of our team to write, based on what they had been working on during the project.
Team Collaborations
We arranged a meeting with AshesiGhana for the 9th of September.
Velizar had a meeting with Oliver from UCL to discuss collaborating on modelling.
Science Communication and Outreach
We posted an infographic explaining what CARPs (coral acid-rich proteins) are, how they precipitate calcium carbonate and how we are planning to use them in our project.
In this post we experimented with using more scientific and technical language than our previous infographics, because we wanted to provide information to the members of our audience with a background in biosciences, who had expressed a wish to know more about the biology of our project. However this infographic got less interaction than our other infographics. We realised that we might have excluded some members of our audience, so we decided to continue writing infographics about the proteins and enzymes we are using, but with more accessible language.
