Working with TJUSLS for better human health
How did we meet
We work with TJUSLS as a partner whose program focuses on the degradation of plastic through the enzyme. As a team that pays attention to the environment, they realize the affection of the environment on human health, and they hoped that they could popularize science in synthetic biology and human health. Such an idea is the same as us - a team focuses on human health (especially the elderly’s health).

2020.2~2020.6: Support education for rural areas
After several online discussions in January, we decided to hold an online support education for rural areas in China. TJUSLS University members are responsible for introducing basic synthetic biology concepts and the human health crisis raised under pollution and diseases while we encouraged them to choose biology as their major.

2020.7~2020.8: An online summer camp for high school students
We collaborated closely and held an online summer camp to enroll 30+ high school students during the summer. We presented them with several standard technologies used in synthetic biology and our team project this year. We also encouraged them to choose biology as their major. Most students speak highly of our summer course.

2020.9~2020.10: A visit to the lab and preparing for the future
In late September, inspired by the TJUSLS team, we invite 20+ sophomores to visit our lab, during which we introduce many experimental methods to them. At the end of the visit, we emphasized using synthetic biology to raise human health. Because we both focus on human health, we collaborate for the whole year and communicate closely with each other on this topic.
