Collaboration with other teams and high school

We have established good partnerships with other teams and high schools. To accomplish our kill-switch, we borrowed BNU team's experimental data and proved that our RNA Thermometer might achieve better results. To promote systems biology, we held an online summer camp with the TJU team. We have also established a friendly relationship with the SCU team in the nutrition direction, and our team members provided relevant photos.

Collaboration with BNU

Coincidentally, we found out that our kill switch design has a very similar basic idea with 19BNU-China, so we got in touch with BNU-China through iGEM China Community. The two teams have established a good cooperative relationship. After deeply exchanging views on kill switch design, we decided to choose RelE/RelB toxin/antitoxin pair they have used for our killer system. They shared their raw wet-lab experimental data of BBa_K3036004 with us generously, saving us a tremendous amount of wet lab work for model construction. With the assistant of BNU-China, our model accomplished smoothly and provided solid proof that with our Kill Switch, engineered bacteria would have less deleterious effects on the environment. Collaboration with TJU

Due to the impact of the epidemic, we have been avoiding gathering activities. Thus, to still popularize and promote the concept of synthetic biology and iGEM during the epidemic and make our project Bone Appetit gain wide attention and recognition, we collaborate with team TJU held an online summer camp for high school students. The activity lasted for two days, and a total of nearly 40 students ranging from grades 9 to 12 participated in it. In the event, we introduced to them the relevant principles and concepts of synthetic biology and shared the concept of iGEM as well as our project.

Collaboration with SCU-China

This year team SCU-China’s program is related to fermentation production. They plan to show the different fermentation processes of traditional flour-made food from all over China. Similar to our project, we both focus on nutrition and diet. The two teams have a nice friendship, so we collaborated. As a team formed in Shanghai, it has gathered students from all over the country. Some members of our team provided SCU-China with photographs and instructions of flour specialties in their hometown.

Friend Team Meet Up

Since quorum sensing is an important part of our project design, we participated in the quorum sensing theme meeting held by the SZPT team in August 15, 2020,including the SZPT-CHINA, CPU_CHINA, HZAU-China, BIT-China, NWU-CHINA-A.
The main purpose of this meeting was to improve the communication among iGEM teams about different projects. We also learnt about other teams' quorum sensing and exchanged modeling information and precautions.
