Synthetic biology is remarkable for its successes in predicting and modulating the behavior of living organisms. However, there has been a lack of tools that could rival natural cooperation of multicellular system.

Beyond Unicellular is our attempt to establish similar levels of crosstalk by developing a system that allows cells to undergo to a set of phenotypes with predefined probabilities. Learn about our project design here.

Our computational models performed thousands of trials to assess the stability of our system in the long-term. We were able to introduce and maintain a fixed ratio of phenotypes across i of cell divisions. To see how we did it, check our models here.
