ERIK is a lecturer and researcher at the Maastricht Science Programme. He was doing synthetic biology without knowing it had a name. When he is not playing in the lab, he likes to photograph stuff. He holds a degree in economics, but found it awfully dull, so he decided to become a scientist instead and went for two more degrees in Biochemistry and Applied Life Sciences. Despite the stressful sides of being a Ph.D. candidate and researcher he lives his happily ever after with science and never looked back to his business days.
