Wai Man Cheong

Principal Investigator

I am Wai Man Cheong, this is my 2nd year as PI to join iGEM. This is challenging year for us, from lockdown of school, limited access to wet lab, restrictions on outreach activities, to difficulties in collaboration. However, with the support from the Faculty of Health Science of the University of Macau, alumni of our school and the passion of our team members, we overcame the challenges. I am really happy to join the iGEM again.

Alisa Leong

Team Leader

Hi! I am Alisa Leong and I am the leader of our iGEM team. My primary responsibility is to coordinate the project and lead the entire team to work together. As I am in love with biology, especially in genetic engineering, this time I hope to combine what I have learned and guide the entire team. Being a leader of our team has brought me much more knowledge of genetic engineering and the skill of collaboration in leadership. I am glad that I have the opportunity to participate in iGEM and I believe that iGEM can bring me valuable experience in my secondary school life.

Ieng Chon Li

I am Ieng Chon Li, a student of Macau Pui Ching Middle School, this is the second time for me to participate in IGEM competition, I think I will do better than last year. Participating in the IGEM experiment team can learn more knowledge about the genetic engineering aspect, and has greatly increased my curiosity about this. For me, participating in this competition not only learning the knowledge in Science but also collaborating with our teammates is also the main that I have learned through this project.

Hi there,this is Yi Fan Xiang.. As a big fan of Statistic, Computer Science and Medicine, it is such a amazing opportunity to meet you guys at IGEM again. This year, I am going to focus on Public outreach, includes explanation of the abstract projects to the masses, meaningful workshop, interview and market research. It is such a valuable chance that let organisms that aren't visible to the human eye are able to become useful commercial products. I am looking forward to cooperate and progress with you guys.

Hi, I am Cheong Pak Chong, a Secondary 4 student in Macau Pui Ching Middle School. This is the first year I join the IGEM project and I feel very excited to have this pleasure as a member of our school IGEM team. In this time, I will be the Treasurer of my team. Hello, I am Wu Chan In, a secondary three student who studies at Macau Pui Ching Middle School. This is the first year I join the IGEM team. I choose to join the IGEM team because I am interested in biology and I want to be a doctor in the future . I'm a teammate of the laboratory part. I choose to become a teammate of the laboratory because I am interested in experiments and I think it is fun. This year, I would try my best to learn more about IGEM and knowledge about Biology. I hope I could do my best in IGEM this year.

Hello! My name is Weng Si Victoria, and I’m a Form 3 student from Pui Ching Middle School. This is my first year to participating in the IGEM competition. Besides, I’m an enthusiast of Biology and Chemistry, so it’s must be a valuable and esteemed opportunity for me to join IGEM competition during my secondary school life. I believed that this isn't only a great occasion to gain precious knowledge and abundant teamwork experience, it also develops and fulfils my life experience. Hi! It’s Nga Chi Leong speaking, you can call me Angie too. I’m a freshman to senior secondary and also, this iGem team. I am eager to learn biochemical knowledge during my time with the team. My aim for myself this year is not only to follow the instructions but also to try giving out perspectives for my team and try my very best as I know chances are not always given twice. I’m also a computer science fanatic and that’s why I’m going to take part in modeling and web page designing. Though I’m still lacking in a lot of things, I believe I am able to accomplish our missions since I’m sure to work hard and listen to our mentors.

Hi! This is She Cho Cheng from Pui Ching Middle School. As I am into experiments, I became a teammate of the laboratory part. Far before the competition, I have already learned a lot about biology engineering in the preparatory stage. For my first time to participate in iGEM competition, I am willing to enrich myself and gain experience through the competition. I am hoping to be a team player to gel with my other teammates. Since I am only a newcomer to our iGEM team, I may not perform well in our team. However, I will shape up and try my very best.

Teng Wai Hoi

Hello, I am Hoi Teng Wai, this is my first time participating in iGEM. I am responsible for the laboratory this time. Since this is my first time participating in it, I don’t know much about iGEM, so before we start doing the project, we took many lessons, I feel much better after those lesson. I hope I can accumulate more experience and enrich my knowledge of biology engineering through this competition.

Hi, I am Iong Hou, a Secondary 4 student from Pui Ching Middle School in Macau. It is my first time to join IGEM competition and I’m very glad to have this opportunities. I’m responsible for laboratory part in our team. Also I’m interested in biology article, so I read it oftenly. I hope that I can consolidate what I’ve learnt before and improve my biology and genetic engineering knowledge during the experiment. I know that IGEM is an international competition, so I surely that it will help to broaden my horizon.

I am Jeremy Hu, a Form 6 student studying in Macau Pui Ching Middle School. Being a member of the team has brought me about both knowledge and techniques in Genetic Engineering. During the intense process of experiment, I have learnt the necessity of team spirit which is indubitably essential for group collaboration. Furthermore, I also enjoy spending my leisure time playing the violin and volleyball.
