Cpf1 is a new member of class II CRISPR bacterial endonuclease. It shows a unique function that makes it a very attractive alternative or supplement to Cas9 genome engineering perform. FnCpf1 from Francisella novicida is one of Cpf1 variants that has been most intensively studied.
