Team UFlorida would like to thank all of the following
for their hard work throughout this very unpredictable year!
Dr. Chris Reisch
Assistant Professor, Microbiology and Cell Science
Dr. Reisch has played a crucial role in the design and improvement of our project from last year and continuing into this year. We would like to thank him for his mentorship and presence in multiple team meetings! Dr. Reisch also replaced chlorR on the PFF745 plasmid with kanR for us to readily use during the wet lab portion of our project in the previous year. He also attained the PFF745 plasmid from Fahim Farzadfard and Timothy K. Lu for us to work with. This year with the onset of COVID-19, he has offered continuous advice and scientific input which helped pave the way for our mathematical modelling leg of the project.
Dr. Amor Menezes
Assistant Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering
We would like to thank Dr. Menezes for closely working with our team to create our mathematical model for this year's modelling portion of our continued project. He has dedicated a lot of time to work with our teammates, especially in the dry lab. We are deeply appreciative all the time and effort he has set aside for our team!
Dr. Anne Donnelly
Director of Center for Undergraduate Research
Dr. Donnelly played a huge role in helping fundraise and maneuvering through iGEM. She helped us navigate the important aspects of iGEM, recruit team members and diversify the team before getting started on the project.
Dr. Shengchen Shan
We would like to thank Dr. Shan for aid in translating our project summary into Mandarin for increased language accessibility.
Professor Youseff Haddad
We would like to thank Dr. Haddad for his translation of our project summary into Arabic to increase language accessibility.
David Murica
UF iGEM would like to thank our own team member David Murica for his translation of our project summary into Spanish.
FSU
We would like to thank the Florida State University iGEM team for their continued partnership and the opportunity to mentor a fellow team. We feel that this partnership has given us great insight into conducting the Human Practices aspects of our project and has shaped the trajectory of our project outreach significantly.
Florida Sea Grant
We would like to thank the Florida Sea Grant team at the University of Florida for the opportunity to talk to professionals in the field of algal blooms. This opportunity provided our Human Practices division with crucial insight to the state of the field and practical benefits and applications of our project in the real world. With their continued support, we were able to present our project to the series “Bite-Sized Science” in order to raise awareness for our project and iGEM to the local scientific community.
Team Captians
Team UFlorida's captains were responsible for overseeing team activities throughout this year, as well as contributing much to human practices, fundraising, modelling, and the wiki.

Dry Lab Members
The dry lab members dedicated much time to designing our genetic circuit, as well as using matlab to simulate our system. We would also like to thank our graduate students Alex Kamentz for helping with the model, and Jithran Ekanayake for helping with the circuit design. We couldn't have done it without you guys!
