This year, among the 41 parts designed, ten are basic parts and the other are composite ones. All of the parts are designed by ourselves, and most of them have been tested to insure their reliability. Among the ten basic parts designed this year by ourselves, BBa_K2922040 is our favorite one, which comes from human genomes. The gene enables engineering bacteria to form a vesicle which will have great applications in the enrichment of substrate (such as metal ions) through extracellular membrane and the enhancement of cell stress resistance. Besides, many other basic parts have also been designed to construct our project.

This year, we have formulated a Part Collection related to secretion of intracellular proteins, which includes two major parts: one is secretion achieved with the help of YebF in the form of fusion proteins, the other is the expression of Kil protein by promoters of different intensities, thus changing cell permeability to different degrees and finally realizing secretion. For our Part Collection, the efficiency of three different intracellular proteins we utilized were well tested, recorded in detail and completely uploaded to the registry, which would be instructive in the field of design and characterization for many teams.
