Lab Work

Adam and Nina inoculated 1ml of the culture of E. coli B72B25 incubated by Mark last night in 50ml of LB medium. This was then placed in the shaking incubator at 37C and measured periodically until the optical density reached 0.6-0.8. Protein expression was induced using 200uM of IPTG then the culture was left to incubate again overnight on agar plates laced with antibiotic.

Unfortunately the wrong antibiotic was accidentally used and killed all the bacteria so the experiment will need to be repeated tomorrow.

In the afternoon, Izzy and Velizar repeated the hydrogel experiment first attempted on the 16th of September.
