Implementation

Our target groups and how to use our project

  1. Contact lens
  2. We design contact lenses to reduce the infection rate through the eye. Target population: We believe that this product is appropriate for all contact lens users who want to increase protection in this epidemic. How to use: general use of contact lenses

  3. Mask
  4. We design the mask to prevent the virus attached to the mask from falling off and inactivate it at will, thereby reducing the occurrence of infection caused by the virus being scattered in the air. Target population: We believe that this product is suitable for people around the world who want to increase protection in this epidemic. Usage: We design a mask whch we need to insert gel on the corresponding site when using.

  5. Detection box
  6. With fast and costless detection tools, we can effectively decrease the incidence of virus infection. Target group: Customs is an important place for epidemic prevention. We hope that people who enter and leave the country can be screened quickly. How to use: After the breathe is blown into the test box from the mouth by compression of the lung cavity, add the extra rfp-ACE2 liquid into the box and mixed with the solution evenly (this step takes about 1 minute), after mixing, pour the rfp-ACE2 liquid into Waste liquid layer, at this time, open the wash buffer box to rinse (this step takes about 5 minutes), and then flow the wash buffer into the waste liquid layer. And finally we could see whether there is any color on the glue. A red dot indicates that the individual has high possibility of carrying virus. If there is no color on the glue, it means the individual has low possibility of carrying virus.

Implement our project in the real world

We look forward to cooperating with mask and contact lens companies which we had visited, and exchanged opinions about our project with them when we conceived our entire hardware design. By cooperating, we can not only really understand the whole situation of their market deeper but also improve our designs, making our application meet with reality more.

Safety considered

Contact lens

  1. We spare the central position not to conjugated with protein in order not to cause vision blur.
  2. We should make sure protein have bound hydrogel firmly in cas they fall off when blinking.

Masks

  1. We tried to avoid that our hydrogel account for too much area to influence the fluency of breathing.

Detection box

  1. The waste after detection shuld be saved well so as to avoid making virus in it leak out.
  2. We designed to let users just exhale rather than collect their sputum by cotton swab, which makes detection process less umcomfortable.

Challenges

  1. If we want promote our products, we should have them coorespond to the law about medical equipment.
  2. How to reduce the degration of protein is also a challenge we need to consider.
  3. Whether the protease will cause effect in human body is unknown, so it’s a big challenge now, for we can’t conduct human experiment.

Some questions to help guide you:
  • Who are your proposed end users?
  • How do you envision others using your project?
  • How would you implement your project in the real world?
  • What are the safty you would need to consider?
  • What other challenges would you need to consider?
Notes:
  • Teams already think about some of these issues for the Safety Form
  • This will encompass engineering, safety, and implementation
