Collaborations
Mid-Atlantic iGEM Meetup
On July 17th, the Pittsburgh iGEM team had the opportunity to attend the Mid-Atlantic Meetup through Zoom hosted by the William and Mary iGEM Team. There, we were able to see the incredible work that UMaryland, William and Mary, and Richmond iGEM teams were doing. In addition to hearing about each other’s projects and adjustments to working online, we had the opportunity to share and exchange ideas and gained some new insight into how we could improve our own project. At the meeting, we introduced a google form for interest in collaborating on our podcast. William and Mary and Baltimore Biocrew agreed to continue collaborating with us.
Podcast Collaborations with iGEM teams
We created the Bluetooth Bacteria Podcast to communicate with the public about synthetic biology and its many applications. We were very lucky to have produced several collaborative episodes recorded through Zoom where we invited guest iGEM teams to join us in an open and casual conversation about their project. Before we began our discussion, we sent a list of potential discussion points, such as project design, ethical considerations, the impact of COVID-19.
