Team Attributions


The whole team has been actively participating in brainstorming, researching, planning and presenting the project. Below is a compilation of individual efforts.

Graphical Design group leader, part of the group working on DBD system. Extra effort put into part and primer design, the proof of concept caffeine assays and documentation of experiments. Special effort in team hoodies design, biosafety and promo video filming, creating illustrations for the Design page on Wiki and managing team's social media.
Linnéa Yuan Andersson:
Team's TikTok master
Part of Graphical Design with special effort in logo design and part of the group working with DBD system. Vital role in bacterial culturing, PCRs and electrophoresis. Special effort in editing the biosafety videos, taking as well as editing the individual and group pictures of the team and managing team's TikTok account.
Björn Ancker Persson:
Team's laser focus
Wiki group leader and part of the lab group working with Type IIS assembly. Special effort in cloning the optimized system elements.
Milica Plavsic:
Team's deep learner
Part of the Modelling group and lab group working on NarX-NarL. Extra effort put into Bacillus experiments i.e cloning and optimization of the protocols.
Elnaz Samandianzad:
Team's most curious person
Part of the Human Practices and lab group working on DBD system. Special effort in part and primer design, bacterial culturing and transformation, optimizing the spheroplast experiments, outreach in education purposes and preparing the final presentation.
Samuel Zargani:

Part of the Wiki and lab group working on reporter system and agglutination approach. Special effort in the agglutination approach, researching alternatives for reporter system and cloning experiments.
Rubén Crespo Blanco:
Team's multitasker
Part of the Human Practices and of lab group working on DBD system. Special effort in data analysis of the caffeine assays with DBD system, planning and carrying through experiments. Further effort put in agglutination construct design, prototype design, lyophilization experiments, team presentations during summer, advising the whole team in wet lab and writing the Implementation page on the Wiki.

Part of the Graphical Design and lab group working on reporter system. Special effort in supporting the lab group, beta-galactosidase transformation and enzyme activity measurements, team's GoFundMe video, postcards, photographs for the team members, filming for biosafety videos and promo video, design and edit icons for the project. Preparing of the final presentation video.
Pedro Nunes:
Team's ambitious spirit
Part of Sponsoring and leader of the lab group working on the NarX-NarL system in B. subtilis. Extra effort put into planning and carrying through B. subtilis experiments i.e. sequence design, cloning and optimization of the protocols; project development, especially in the early stages; compilation of the contributions page; collaboration with Team Generation Mendel from Brno University.
Dorottya Marko:

Part of Graphical Design and lab group working with Type IIS assembly. Special effort in preparing Type IIS cloned parts for sequencing and analyzing the results, creating the main overview picture explaining project design and illustrations for the Type IIS guide book.

Margareta Krabbe

As our primary PI, Margareta Krabbe has helped us from the early stages of the team recruitment to the very end. With her help it has been possible to tackle the administrative questions of lab space, adaptations to Covid19 restrictions and safety education. She has also given valuable input on the project itself. Her tireless work for active education and recognition of iGEM as a place for it has enabled our teams participation in the competition.

Anthony Forster

Our secondary PI, professor Forster has helped us throughout the whole project. From the early stages we have received valuable feedback allowing us to research gaps in our project design, troubleshoot our experiments and present science in a proper way. His dedication to science has helped us and our project become better.

Emil Marklund

Our instructor, Emil Marklund has been the greatest support we could have dreamt of. Emil has been there for all of our questions from our first steps in BioBrick design, through failed clonings, all the way to the assays for proof of concept. He has been explaining and teaching at times when we were in over our heads, celebrating and reviewing interpretations of our triumphs. His ability to perceive our goals, our backgrounds and science in general has helped us to conduct our project.
