PROOF OF CONCEPT

Our project is based on the fermentation industry. It’s obviously that we should test our project in a fermenter. But instead of using the large fermenter used in industry, we only did preliminary experiment in flask and test tube.

Because we lacked the experimental time to get all product results, we decided to discuss that our project could be applied to the industrial circle through two aspects: “how the human practice effect our design”, “model”.

Practice and design

We started brainstorming with dozens of ideas, but their feasibility didn't satisfy everyone. So we decided to seek inspiration for the project in the practice. We quickly completed the project design because we got guidance from the people have rich experience in industrial strain design. The differences between laboratory and industrial production have been well considered at the beginning. We have confidence in the application of our design to industry.

Model

Due to some special reasons, we could not carry out experiments in the early stage. Therefore, in order not to delay the progress of our project, we carried out the integration of models in advance. In order to ensure that our models were useful, we used other people's experiment data to fit and verify them. After we were able to conduct experiments, we did experiments on cell growth and verified the feasibility of our model through the measured data.
