Overview

Description
The production of waste increases year after year. One cause is overconsumption and lack of recycling of textiles. Nowadays cotton is often mixed with elastane, which allow the fabric to stretch without losing shape. It is difficult to separate cotton from elastane, which aggravates recycling. No Time To Waste aims to enzymatically degrade the plastic fibers that are present in clothes, such as elastane, and release the natural materials. But how do we do that? Find out more under the Description section.

Implementation
During the last decade, the use of enzymes within the textile industry has emerged. Enzymatical degrading is a more environmentally friendly option to chemical methods and we want to implement this to degrade Elastane. Here you can read about how project developed over time and how we propose to implement or project on an industrial scale as well as in society.
