Yihan Yang

“I am not throwing away my shot.” This is a quote from musical -Hamilton which also represents my own characteristic. My name is Yihan Yang, a 16-year-old student from Guangdong Experimental School. Actually I am not so obsessed with Biology as other members in the team. However, being desperate for enhancing myself, I joined in 2020iGEM and this special experience demonstrates it is worth. I spent time with my friends for months and we worked hard because of the same goal. It is so amazing that I cannot wait to face the final challenge. Fighting,GDSYZXer!

Yizhen Yang

I'm a 16-year-old student from Guangdong Experimental High School. I love listening to music and watch videos in my spare time. The participation of iGEM is a great challenge for me since I have never gotten in touch with Biology in such a deep way. Plus, I am a bit shy in daily life and not so willing to express my feeling to others, so this competition gives me a chance to enhance my ability of cooperation, speech, and the usage English skills. Though I do not usually actively talk with others, I will respond other people as long as they organize a topic at first. In iGEM 2020, I will try my best to own the medal!

JieLin Huang

My name is JieLin Huang. I’m a 16-year-old girl who is fond of biology and physics. As a high school student, I am active to attend various activities and clubs. Also, it is very enjoyable for me to stay with my friends and parents. My favorite hobby is traveling and exploring different things. Attending iGEM is not only a novel challenge for me but also a very unforgettable experience during my high school life. It is my pleasure to meet such a group of good friends through this competition. I will value the memory which I fight with my good friends. Fighting, GDSYZX team!!

Zizhe Zhou

My name is Zhou Zizhe and I come from Guangdong Experimental Middle School. I have a wide range of subjects, like sports, playing musical instruments, and have a strong interest in the biological field. In the team, I cooperated with the team members to complete the project and background of the team, and participated in hp activities. In normal life, I am very active, and I am always curious about the unknown. The laboratory and the study are my favorite places to go. A tutorial and a computer can create unlimited results. Participating in the igem competition not only allowed me to learn a lot of new knowledge, but also to enter the laboratory and promote it in the society, which was very rewarding.

RuoXin Li

My name is Ruoxin Li and I am from Guangdong, China. I love drawing, Mucha and Ilya Repin. I love listening to music, and my favourite band is Nightwish. I am fond of genetic engineering. I also love traditional Chinese medicine culture. Therefore, I hope to combine traditional Chinese medicine culture with genetic engineering organically, and carry forward China's excellent traditional culture to the world.

Kanglin Chen

Name：Kanglin Chen/ Connie

Position：HP member/ Art designer

Connie is an atypical intj, an atypical Sagittarius, an obsessed art lover. Although she does’t like talking, it doesn’t mean she has no ideas. For her, being a bystander is a more comfortable role. There is nothing more interesting than observing and understanding the cause and effect of an event.

In our project, Connie is responsible for a part of writing and art design. Because of parents’ job (about pharmacy and medicine), she is interested in Physiology and Biology. This is also the reason that she takes part in IGEM. During the journey of IGEM, she gets lots of new skill. (That’s so exciting!)

Yongze Li

My name is Li Yongze, a part of our iGEM team. I am responsible for arranging HP activities in the team and being a photographer in various promotional videos. I have a lot of hobbies, such as watching animation, playing table tennis, swimming, and even Yang's Taijiquan. I usually don't like to talk. Some people may mistake me as a very serious and introverted person. In fact, as long as other people get in touch with me, they will find my positive, cheerful, lively and friendly side. I never refuse other people's request and I am willing to help others.

Jiaxun Li

My name is Li Jiaxun. Biology is the very subject that intrigues me. IGEM is a big challenge for me in the last year of high school. I always have an enthusiasm in biology that makes me want to participate in such competition. I started to be interested in biology two years ago. I actually conducted several of my own experience about mechanisms of drug abuse. Doing experiment can help me relax. Manipulating operation on creatures relives my pressure. Also, I’m obsessed with medieval art, typically during Renaissance period. Sandro Botticelli is my favorite among the Renaissance artists I like. His famous painting “Primavera” is the most sophisticated and distinguished I ever seen.
