Anecdote: Recently I almost died on the highway while driving to Angers because of a car that was going the wrong way (very unusual). The next day there was an article that said it was an old couple that was apparently disoriented (they were driving more than 130 Km/h). There are other anecdotes but non-relatable.

Anecdote: It’s not that crazy but it stays with me. One cold January day I was traveling alone in the mountains of Greece, I was attacked by a pack of five or sex shepards dogs that came out of nowhere. They surrounded me, tried to bite me. I then looked them straight in the eyes as I slowly moved away from the area. Finally, one of them managed to bite me on the leg but it only pierced my jeans… An old shepherd then appeared and yelled at them, they immediately dispersed and left me alone

Hobbies: An aspiring athlete, I practice rock climbing, bodybuilding but also running. I gave myself a challenge - to run a marathon in 2021. My biggest passion is my cat and my second biggest is french pastry (can’t live without them)
Passions: I love cooking and especially making all kinds of desserts (mostly french pastry), we all know Top Chef. Also, I love some good brain teasers

Dr. Rolland

She is our Primary PI For iGEM 2020. She is a teacher and a researcher at the University of Nantes in the field of Immunology and Cancerology. She is currently in team N°1 at CRCINA that is working on “ Immunobiology of Human αβ and γδ T cells and Immunotherapeutic Applications”. Throughout the competition, she was and still is always happy to help us. She is also the main supervisor for the Human Practice group but she also provides a lot of support for the Scientific and Financial group.

Laetitia is a really caring teacher, when team members were going through tough moments we knew that we could always turn to her for advice. She has a heart of gold and is dedicated to her work and does not mind helping her students during her free time.

The entire team is extremely grateful for the time, implication and guidance she provided us with throughout the entire competition.

Dr. Déléris

Paul Déléris is a lecturer and a teacher at the University of Nantes. He is also a researcher at the MMS (Mer, Molécules, Santé) Laboratory and helps with the development of proteomic strategies for the characterization and valorization of bioproducts using marine resources.

Always present and ready to help us, he mainly supervised the scientific group. Paul is a cheerful, funny and very friendly person. We could talk about anything that comes to our mind with him for hours and hours - but especially about the project.

The team warmly thanks Paul Déléris for his enthusiasm for our project, his relevant advice and his friendliness

Dr. Camberlein

Emilie is working as a teacher and a researcher at the University of Nantes in the field of Molecular Engineering (UFIP Laboratory). During iGEM 2020, she was always there for us and she is an amazing supervisor. Even though Emilie mainly works with the scientific group, she is always available for any member in need. She gives us the strength to solve any issue that comes our way. She was the one responsible for the creation of the first-ever iGEM Team in Nantes in 2019. Her experience proved extremely useful for the whole team.

She is a teacher that is so passionate about what she does, it is always a pleasure to be able to talk with her about any scientific field.

The entire team appreciates the empowerment she provided us with throughout the entire competition.

Dr. Le Breton

Magali is a teacher at the University of Nantes and a researcher at CRCINA in team N°8 that works on “Stress adaptation and tumor escape”. Although she was discreet, she followed our project very closely and did not hesitate to give us her opinions and share with us her professional contacts. Bad internet connection and problems in video conferencing did not prevent her from listening to us and guiding us on this great adventure.

The whole team would like to thank Magali for the kindness she showed us while building our project.

Dr. Montiel

Grégory Montiel is a teacher and a researcher at the University of Nantes (LBPV Laboratory). He was responsible for supervising the financing group with Thierry Dintinger. Very friendly, he was particularly attentive during our video conference presentations and was able to give us new and interesting insights and better orient our project. His advices helped us move forward during the competition. The team members find him very hip and see him as a cool, serious, hipster scientist (that is no longer a secret).

The whole team thanks him for his interesting remarks, his thoughtful suggestions and for his cool attitude toward each and everyone of us.

Dr. Dintinger

He is a lecturer, researcher and Director of the Department of Life Sciences at the University of Nantes. Thierry is an instructor that always pushes the team towards perfection. He always makes sure we are invested in the project and are doing good enough work. He made sure that our project goes as far as possible. Even if he was busy, he always continued supporting us and answering whenever we had answers.

Thierry knows how to impart his knowledge to students in an interesting and understandable way. Besides that, he is cool, nice and can fluently speak German, French and English.

We are all grateful to him for what he gave us: knowledge, advice and encouragement.

Meet Damien

Damien is a biology technician at the University of Nantes and at the same time a creator of amazing board games. He is an advisor that came to help us with the educational board game that we are currently developing together. He has already created several board games, some with educational purposes, and his experience is helping us out a lot.

He is always ready to answer any questions we have and is always here when we need help.
