Collaborations
We team XHD-Wuhan-China have been active in the in-depth collaboration with other teams in the 2020 iGEM competition. We have close contact with XHD-ShanDong-China, HZAU-China, WHU-China and have received a lot of their help in return. These collaborations have played an indispensable role in our path of better completing our other teams’ projects.
Meet up with WHU-China on line
On July 24, 2020, we had our first official meeting with WHU-China to share our topics chosen for the year, and we kept in contact with them as the program proceeds. Members of WHU-China served as great mentors to us high school students, we learned how they planned out the whole program ahead, and also a lot of lab techniques from them too.
Suggestions for our HP team are as follows:
1. Try to contact relevant experts and institutions related to soil improvement and Mars landing, such as the Environmental Protection Bureau, environmental protection companies, and affiliated institutions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
2. Due to the special situation this year, we can put HP online for interviews and interviews. Be prepared in advance with the questions you want to ask and the information and expertise you need.
3. Ask whether our experimental design is reasonable during the expert interview, and ask the experts to give us suggestions and evaluations on the wet team's experiments.
Finally, Wuhan University made several Suggestions on a potential cooperation plan between the two teams:
1) Participated in the project Presentation project of WHU-China, and made a presentation to introduce our IGEM project.
2) WHU-China may help us contact microbiologists for interviews
Collaboration on Project
When we wanted to use Deinococcus radiodurans for our project, WHU-China told us that we could contact the China Center for Type Culture Collection of Wuhan University. Then we successfully contacted this institution and purchased Deinococcus radiodurans.
Collaborations with HZAU-China
In the process of carrying out the project, thanks to HZAU-China for helping us to contact Professor Tian Bing of the school of life sciences of Zhejiang University and asked him to provide us with pRADK, pRADG shuttle plasmids and plasmid profiles for free. This successfully promoted our project implementation.
Collaboration with XHD-ShanDong-China
We interacted closely with XHD-ShanDong-China throughout iGEM 2020. We peer viewed each other’s safety form and gave feedback. We help them a lot in experiments.

Meet up with XHD-ShanDong-China and WHU-China
On August 10, 2020, our team had a face-to-face meeting with XHD-ShanDong-China and an online project discussion with team of WHU-China. Each of our teams introduced the progress and plans of our respective projects, and we discussed other promotion projects and competition plans that did not have time to complete the experiment due to the epidemic. And encourage each other and insist on not giving up.
In addition, in the end, Wuhan team and Shandong team exchanged questionnaires of the two teams to help each group collect survey data. The members also left contact information with each other to help discuss the problems in the later experimental progress, share resources and exchange valuable experience.
