Team:CAU China/Attribution


This year, we have 15 undergraduate students, 3 advisors and 3 professors making up our team and dedicated to this project. Some individuals focus on single responsibilities while others are multi-tasks conductors. But everyone has played an indispensable role in the entire project. We had also gained great help form various parties out of our team. Thank you for your effort and your joining made this team better.


1.Wet Lab

We started our wet lab experiment on September 15th 2020. Under the arrangement of team leaders, 13 wet lab team members were divided into four groups to construct different components. With the development of our project, we regrouped once for further research.

Cellulose Degradation part improvement

Mingkai He, was responsible for improvement of constructing gene CEX and CEN combining with yeast surface performance element AGA2. He did great effort on molecular cloning and primer designing. Yongze Chen, was a team member on cooperation with Mingkai He. He did great effort on Molecular cloning.

dsRNA synthesis parts

Bangqi Zhu, was responsible for dsRNA part construction. He devoted himself a large amount of time on locust gene extract, RNAi expressing and locust dsRNA injection experiment design. Haowen Huang, was one of team members of dsRNA part. She was a key force for locust dsRNA injection experiment and help Bangqi Zhu on RNAi expression. Minya Li, was one of team members of dsRNA part. She coordinated with Bangqi Zhu on locust gene extract and RNAi primer design. Xinyi Jiang, was one of team members of dsRNA part who took charge of pepperRNA experiment design. She also helped with locust experiment and RNAi expression. Peichun Lan, was one of team members of dsRNA part. She took change of medium preparation. In addition, she did a great effort on molecular cloning. Lei Zheng, was responsible for locust experiment design and data analysis.

Light Control system part

Yuge Wei, was responsible for CarH light control system construction. She also proposed light control system firstly. She did large amount of work on CarH system measurement and constructed CarH testing system with Red-fluorescent-protein. Also, she did assay on transform CarH system into yeast. Qinxin Sun, was one of the team members in CarH light control system. She searched the paper and found CarH light control system which gave us an idea on using CarH protein as our light control system. Yanyi Song, was one of the team members in CarH ligh control system. She helped with Yuge Wei during the experiment process and she searched a great amount of light control system during the brainstorm.

Metarhizium acridum part

Ran Wang, was responsible for Metarhizium acridum part design and dsRNA employment. He found promoter PMaGPD for Metarhizium acridum RNAi expression. Zixuan Li, was responsible for Metarhizium acridum experiment on locust virulence and experiment observation.


2.Modelling

                                         Lei Zheng, was in charge of modelling constructing molecular dynamic model and population growth model. Mengxuan Wu, was in charge of constructing model systematically with a mathematic method.


3.Art

Yanyi Song and Xinyi Jiang, was in charge of art work on the project poster, logos, team wiki, team uniform and videos elements. Yongze Chen, was in charge of making video of finalist and promotion.


4.Wiki

Zemei Liu, was in charge of the wiki design and layout settings. She coordinated with our Art members who provided written material to complete our wiki sites.


5.Human Practice

Haowen Huang, was in charge of Human practice on company and academia. She was also responsible for organizing education on synthetic biology. Minya Li, was in charge of Human practice on academia and questionnaire on locust biopesticide


6.Hardware

Yongze Chen, was in charge of constructing our hardware of optogenetic control system equipment.


7.Lab safety and budget

Ran Wang, was in charge of lab safety and lab equipment using rule construction. Xinyi Jiang, was in charge of making orders for all DNA synthesis services, the reagents and consumable materials we need.


8.Advisor

Na Wang, primary PI of CAU_China, was in charge of fundraising and the organization of CAU_China, offered us advices and financial support. Yuqi Cheng, Xuqian Fan and Xueshan Yan as the team member of CAU_China 2019 becomes advisors of CAU_China 2020. They offered us many support from various aspects.


9.Project Support and Advice

Na Wang, primary PI of CAU_China, was in charge of fundraising and the organization of CAU_China, offered us advices and financial support. Jinshui Yang, instructor of CAU_China. Professor Jinshui Yang provided us material for part construction on cellulase part improvement. Changfu Tian, secondary Pi of CAU_China. Professor Changfu Tian gave us many advices on our project design and he also gave us guidance on data analysis.


10.Acknowledgement
