High School Team Collaboration hosted by Lambert_GA

We attended the online high school team collaboration hosted by Lambert_GA with other 4 teams: FDR_Peru, CCA, Korea_HS and Hainan_China. In the first online meeting, we had a chance to present our project to other teams and gained information about their projects, followed by a discussion of some difficulties each of the teams had encountered, mainly on Modeling, Software and troubleshooting. Thus, in the second meeting, our team provided some help and knowledge regarding to the Modeling part, which we were quite familiar with. We also obtained understanding of software construction skills.

Sharing of laboratory experience with SMS_Shenzhen

The projects of our 2019 and 2020 teams both included protein production processes, thus some of our team seniors and new members are already familiar with the topic and experiments. SMS_Shenzhen, a high school team that shared a lab with us, needed some instructions on enzyme production and verification. We had the chance to provide helping hands for them, discussing the protein production steps and teaching them in detail of how to assemble SDS-PAGE apparatus, making SDS-PAGE gels and running the PAGE.

Wiki construction guidance with GreatBay_SZ

Since we started constructing our wiki at a very early stage, we had had the chance to help another team--GreatBay_SZ to construct their wiki by communicating some of the few website designing and coding protocols. We helped them construct their wiki to a more straight forward demonstration of their product for the viewers to study.

Sharing molecular cloning materials with GZ_HFI

A photo of the GZ_HFI team members

GZ_HFI is another high school team that shared a lab with us. We communicated and discussed with each other about our projects, and we discovered our need of a plasmid PSB1C3, for cloning selected aptamer and sequencing. GZ_HFI team happened to possess this kind of plasmid for their project and they happily offered some of their stock of PSB1C3. We obtained successful results of sequencing using them.
