About Our Team

Our team is formed by students who come from three different secondary schools: Carmel Pak U Secondary School, TWGHs Wong Fut Nam College, and TWGHs Mrs. Wu York Yu Memorial College. There are 21 students in our team. We are all passionate about learning Science and Biology. We chose plastics to be our target for our project as we all think marine plastics is a big problem and challenge to the environment.

Carmel Pak U Secondary School was founded in Tai Po by the Evangelical School Development Incorporation Limited in 1979. English is the main medium of instruction. Our school aims to provide students with Christian whole-person education in order to cater for their moral, intellectual, physical, social, aesthetic and spiritual needs. Our school has taken part in many different science competitions in the past years and accumulated a lot of experience through the competition. Therefore, our school would like to participate in more renowned and international competitions in hopes of furthering our students’ knowledge in science and broadening their horizon. As the first secondary school founded by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, TWGHs Wong Fut Nam College has served the community for nearly 60 years. The completion of the in-situ re-development project of our school in 2016 provide a better learning environment for students. The new campus boasts of a brand new look and an expanded area by 60% as well as an environmentally-friendly design. The roof is furnished with sports facilities, including a basketball court, a four-lane running track, a sandpit for long jump and facilities for high jump. The ground floor of the new campus is equipped with a professional Auditorium. We hoped our students will make good use of the new facilities to broaden their learning experience, develop good manners, and serve the community. Tung Wah Group of Hospitals Mrs. Wu York Yu Memorial College is a co-educational secondary school established by the Tung Wah Group of Hospitals in 1977. As a proud member of Tung Wah Group of Hospitals, our mission is to achieve the all-round development of our young generation so that they can reach their full potentialities. We firmly believe in the school motto “Diligence, Frugality, Loyalty and Faithfulness” as the guiding principle in the moral and intellectual development of our students. We strive to promote proper values and prepare students to lead a full and meaningful life.
