31/01/2020: Team meeting at the library - in this session we discussed our individual interests and brainstormed for potential project ideas.

February 2020

6/02/2020: Meeting at the library - further discussion of skin cancer and sunscreens, found link to coral bleaching.

19/02/2020: Meeting with Professors Breitling and Takano at Manchester Institute of Biotechnology (MIB) - presented our initial ideas for feedback.

17/02/2020: Meeting with Daniel Schindler - narrowed down our project options to Hipposol.

18/02/2020: Meeting in Hive to meet new team members.

23/02/2020: Meeting in SU and discussion of the Hipposol concept.

26/02/2020: Meeting in MIB about the function of biobricks and synthetic approaches to begin to understand how synthetic biology solutions are implemented.

March 2020

1/03/2020: Meeting in SU – began literature research into Hipposudoric Acid.

4/03/2020: Meeting with Professor Professor Breitling, Registration of the iGEM team.

10/03/2020: Meeting and Introduction of the new member to the team.

18/03/2020: First set up of the Zoom meeting. Discussion of Challenges brought by Coronavirus: Sponsors and Hippo samples. Experimental design planning. Introduction to RetroPath2.0, discussion of aims, and targets. Introduction to wiki design. UK brings up sudden lockdown measures, social distancing measures forces the project to go remote over an undefined period of time.

25/03/2020: Second Zoom meeting, meeting with Professor Breitling. Discussion of Sudden COVID changes, possibilities for in vivo, and in silico experimental research. Discussion of the current working conditions of team members and possibilities of creating content. Majority of the team had to leave for their homes as the University campus closes.

April 2020

1/04/2020: Meeting with Professor Breitling, discussion of Logo ideas and Wiki Design and organization. Agreement on decisions and organisation of wiki workshop.

8/04/2020: Zoom meeting discussing market research and human practices. Introduction of the main market tendencies in the sun care market, discussion of papers and research.

13/04/2020: Zoom meeting by the part of the team working on RetroPath2.0. Introduction to metabolic engineering and modelling through KNIME platform. Discussed the different forms of metabolic modelling we could perform as unknown whether laboratory work would be possible during the summer.

15/04/2020: Meeting with Ruth concerning RetroPath2.0.

16/04/2020: Meeting with Logo decisions and ideas, Decision on the potential product name. Introduction of the whole team to RetroPath2.0. Introduction of Benchling platform.

17/04/2020: Meeting with Daniel Schindler. Discussion of RetroPath2.0 Introduction, Further discussion on the project planning and decisions on new creative human practices options such as analysing social media.

19/04/2020: Abstract planning and discussion.

21/04/2020: Meetings with further discussion and work on logo and video, work on the market analysis of the most commonly used sunscreens. Decisions on the direction of market research and planning of business report. Beginning to plan Essential Entrepreneurship Resource based off discussions about our experience thus far.

22/04/2020: Meeting with Professor Professor Breitling, discussion of the uploaded preview on changed rules of iGEM during coronavirus. Decision made on project being entirely focused on dry lab work. Our computational dry lab results will act as our proof of concept.

23/04/2020: Ambassador iGEM meeting. Meeting with Ruth to discuss potential RetroPath2.0 results, challenges and troubleshooting opportunities.

24/04/2020: Team meeting discussing protocols and potential lab requirements. Analysis of important papers and documents.

25/04/2020: Team meeting, wrote our Revive and Restore grant applications and funding.

30/04/2020: Wiki Workshop held by Sandrina and Jana to teach others how to upload content. Introduction to HTML and formatting.

6/05/2020: Meeting with Professor Breitling, updates on a grant application, logos. Meeting with Ruth to discuss potential mistakes in RetroPath2.0 analysis.

7/05/2020: Team meeting to check progress of each individual component of the project.

7/05/2020: Results validation.

12/05/2020: Wiki meeting to discuss design, structure and colour scheme.

18/05/2020: Wiki meeting to test uploading.

20/05/2020: Validation of RetroPath2.0 results show they were false positive. Decision to turn the proof of concept by chemistry analysis based on hypotheses for the formation of Hipposudoric Acid in primary literature.

June 2020

1/06/2020: Meeting with Professor Breitling, discussion of the grant discussion of slack and communication through social media, docking simulation software.

3/06/2020: Meeting with Professor Breitling to receive feedback on logo edits as well as promo video feedback. Finalized chosen logo with a hippopotamus.

5/06/2020: We got awarded the Revive and Restore grant (thank you) and discussed the potential ways we could use the funding in the future for wet lab experiments.

7/06/2020: Final selection of logo, discussion of promo video materials to be made, market report progress checkup, discussion of surveys and survey distribution, wiki progress and protocols.

9/06/2020: Registration of the team for German IGEM meetup 2020, discussion of seminars and workshops attended.

10/06 /2020: Meeting with the professor Professor Breitling, discussion of objectives for the team and update.

2/07/2020: Presentation in video form for German iGEM meetup. Meeting with Phill Shapira to discuss human practices approaches and a meeting with St Andrews to further discuss expanding our collaboration into a partnership. Discussion of shift In teams priorities, moving away from surveys and skin test towards stakeholder map, wiki study, and lifecycle analysis.

4-6/07/2020: German IGEM meetup. Networking with several European teams, attendance of seminars and workshops, including a talk with Daniel Schindler from UoM. Attendance of other team’s presentations.
