The fatal pneumonia COVID-19 has spread across the world this year, but fortunately the situation is well-controlled in Taiwan now. However, in early February, when it appeared a potential outbreak might happen in Taiwan, we held all our discussions via online meeting to minimize the risk of infection. When the school opened again for the second semester, we measured our body temperatures and disinfected hands with alcohol before entering any building. Moreover, we always wore masks and practiced social distancing, keeping a distance at least 1.5 meters apart inside and 1 meter outside.

Besides, our team members received training courses to understand biohazards and preventive measures. In addition, we only used the dengue virus envelope protein, which is not pathogenic to humans, instead of the whole virus particle.

They can induce damage on retinas and optic nerves, causing diseases such as retinitis and glaucoma. Therefore, we wore goggles and gloves and were careful when conducting the experiments involving gold nanoparticles. Furthermore, our reagent is covered all the time, which prevents the nanogold from escaping into the environment.

We also advise the users in the product manual to collect the products and dispose of them properly after use.
