Eastern China iGEM Meetup

In this meeting, 6 teams made a wonderful presentation of the project, and 25 teams participated in the meeting. During the exchange, we got great inspiration. Among them, Tianxuan Zhu, CEO of Beijing Zeno technology, suggested that we should compare more in the experiment, and all teams should combine more organically in Science Communication and partnership, which also inspired our exchange and study with overseas teams and people. In our communication with Miss hasnanin, we learned that international online investigation should pay attention to the relevant regional or national regulations. Finally, we participated in the bottle drifting program, which aims to make the participating team communicate better and face some challenges in iGEM competition.

Northeastern coastal areas online meetup

In order to promote the cooperation and exchange among iGEM teams in 2020 and provide sharing learning opportunities, we participated in the online exchange meeting in Northeast coastal areas. In the meeting, we introduced our experiments and future development prospects in detail, and popularized the knowledge of cellulose fermentation to ethanol production for some participating teams and students. We can't help but be encouraged to see the enthusiasm and enthusiasm for synthetic biology. What's more, after the meeting, we found our partners, Beijing Normal University and Northeast Forestry University. It is an honor for us to participate in meaningful exchange meetings and give full play to the advantages of our project, which is also a valuable experience of participating in iGEM.

iGEM co-education

In mid August, together with thuigem, PKU iGEM, cauigem and BNU iGEM, we launched a week-long "science popularization public activity of synthetic biology" online. The teaching included six aspects: synthetic biology foundation, medical treatment, agricultural food, energy, information art and industrial environment.

This has played an important role in the promotion of synthetic biology in junior high school and senior high school groups, and our course has also been supported by the teaching and research center of Beijing Municipal Education Commission. During the live broadcast of science popularization in bilibilibili, we watched more than 30000 people, received messages and feedback from students from different regions, and we also got valuable suggestions on teaching. When we received the message from the children about their strange field of synthetic biology, we felt very excited and felt the responsibility on our shoulders and the power of knowledge education. We are honored to have the opportunity to participate in such a grand and meaningful event, and we believe that with the joint efforts of all, synthetic biology will usher in an era of vigorous development.
