✅ Model. https://2020.igem.org/Team:GZ_HFI/Model Our visualized mathematical model predicts the competitive relationship between the three different stains of probiotics we created. Also, we estimated the effective time of the capsule. Our model instructs our design of the final product. By applying the proper ratio of three different E.coli in the capsule, we can maximize the effective time so that individuals are not required to take the capsule too often, which declines the fee burdened by them.
✅ Measurement. https://2020.igem.org/Team:GZ_HFI/Measurement We developed credible measurements to measure our experimental results based on literature. We measured the concentration of ammonia by using spectrophotometer at 420 nm. Results showed a decrease in the concentration of ammonia. We measured the concentration of cysteine, which shows that more hydrogen sulfide is consumed and transferred into cysteine. We also measured the production of myrcene. Results showed that we have successfully produced 0.034735 mg/ml myrcene in the sample.
✅ Education. https://2020.igem.org/Team:GZ_HFI/Education We targeted three different groups, low-aged children, high school students and general public, to publicize the knowledge of synthetic biology through several activities. Specifically, we designed different focus for different age groups. For low-aged children, we held interesting short lectures on farting. For high school students, we exhibited the roll-up banner and imported knowledge of intestinal health and enterostomy to them at school. There were a great number of students who were interested in our project and wanted to learn more about it. For general public, we introduced knowledge on farting and the basic theories under our project design. There were more than thousands of people viewing our publicizing articles online.
✅ Integrated Human Practices. https://2020.igem.org/Team:GZ_HFI/Integrated_Human_Practices We interviewed a domestically prominent bio-tech company, and gained some knowledge about entrepreneurship. We also interviewed a distinguished doctor, and understand the current status and potential demand of the market. In the light of these valuable advices, we improved our experimental design.
