Collaborations
To us, iGEM is not only a competition but also a chance to be able to meet and engage with students with similar motivations.
iGEM Team
SCU-China:
In this year, we have established close cooperation with SCU-China in all respects, such as team
building, schedule promotion,
human practice, dry experiments, wet experiments etc. Please go to the page of Partnership for detailed cooperation contents.

SZU-China
This summer we had an opportunity to hold a conference with SZU-China and SCU-China in Sichuan Province of China. Click the Logo above to see them!

We exchanged information about our projects, got feedback on the challenges we were facing, and put forward some solutions to the problems.

1,They helped us improve the design of liposome, hoping to make it more effective in transporting
DNA sequences into bacteria.
2. They also advised us to analyze our HP activities in timelines to make it perspicuous.
Recommendations received by SCU-WestChina:
1. Drug delivery system: consider using nano-gold with a layer of targeting material or the
tetrahedral structure sequence suggested by SZU on the outside of liposomes, so as to enhance
targeting and binding ability.
2. Drug metabolism: Metabolism needs to be further considered, including the consideration of
whether drugs can undergo systemic metabolism through blood circulation.
3. Experimental design: consider adding simultaneous comparative experiments with other drugs for
cell verification tests
4. HP design: need to rearrange the timeline to enhance its connection with the project
5. Drug use: It is necessary to consider the potential side effects of the drug. For example, TGF-β
is a widespread target. Will the coexistence of multiple diseases affect the distribution and
delivery efficiency of drugs, and will it affect other diseases? Serious side effects etc.
CPU-China
At the beginning of the year, we came into contact with Fulexi(PCBM), an educational institution which is enthusiastic about science education. With their introduction, we contacted with CPU-China and promoted our cooperation. We finally invited SCU-China, THU-China, PKU-China, and NJU-China to hold the NCiC and introduce our projects together under the sponsorship of GeneScript.
Regional Conference
NCiC
At the invitation of Fulexi(PCBM) and GenScript Biotech Corporation, we participated in the first NCiC in Nanjing, China. The participating teams include Peking, Tsinghua, CPU-China, NJMU-China, NJTech-China, SCU-China and us.
We presented and shared our updates on NCiC. Some positive feedbacks were received by igem advisors and other members of other igem teams. The instructors and other teams praised the design ideas and vlaue of our project. We discussed the competition's requirements for synthetic biology, and the advisor from Sun Yat-sen University pointed out some deficiencies in our pathway design. Finally, they praised our work on the HP part and encouraged us to go further.
CCiC
Our project has also been presented on CCiC, and we have received positive feedback and helpful suggestions for improvements:
Judges' opinions
-
The project itself is very mature and perfect. We are looking forward to your experiment results!
You can explain more about why you wanna take advantage of liposomes for delivery.
Your project is great, but you need to excavated the significance behind the project to make your story more appealing! -
You can show more details about the fusion protein function mechanisms so as to increase the coherence from the background to the specific experiments.
You have shown a lot of content in your poster, but the art design can be optimized, and the current color combining with numerous text is a little bit not convenient for reading.
