Team:Beijing 4ELEVEN/Partnership
During the year iGEM 2020, we have a partnerdship with NWU-CHINA-A, the following are the details about our partnership.
7.21 Some of our team members filled out an online questionnaire conducted by NWU-CHINA-A about public awareness of AMP band-aids on wechat, and found similarity between the two team's projects. We considered contacting them for a partnership.
8.27 Our team participated in CCiC (The 4th Southern China iGEMers Regional Online Meeting), and found ourselves arranged into the same ZOOM meeting with NWU-CHINA-A. After learning further in detail about their project by watching their presentation, we were eager to establish partnership with them. Later that day, in the free discussion section, we discovered that they were also looking forward to being partners, so our team leader, Yuting Yang, searched the contact information pamphlet, and sent a partnership application to NWU-CHINA-A by email, which was then confirmed.
9.6 Soon after the establishment of our partnership, we arranged a Wemeet meeting, in which the two teams exchanged knowledge about AMPs collected in research phase, and discussed how our human practices would be developed beyond simple questionnaires and interviews.
9.18 Due to the inconvenience of reaching out mainly by email, we established a Wechat group chat for further communication. From then on we would share information about protein expression and purification along with experiment schedules once in a while.
9.27 We arranged an Wemeet discussion about our models. Since both teams experienced great difficulty in the quantitative analysis of AMPs, we explored other feasible aspects of modelling.
10.13 ① Our team considered adhesive and cohesive proteins of avail to their team, and suggested to them the project of Greatbay_SCIE2019. NWU-CHINA-A then did an article review on the subject, and further extended their project.
② Our team provided NWU-CHINA-A with suggestions to improve their contribution section to better fulfill the Bronze award criterion. They were inspired and made modifications to their experiment schedules.
③NWU-CHINA-A introduced to us methods of PHA coating formation.
④We offered to share some of our AMP antimicrobial potency verification results with them.
10.25 Since both teams were not familiar with iGEM wiki construction, which is distinct from common websites, we arranged a discussion about programming techniques, solutions of certain technical problems, and other related operations.
