Jamboree Commentators
Every year, hundreds of fascinating projects are developed by iGEMers to face the pressing challenges of our time and innovate for the future. Every attendee experiences a unique journey during the Jamboree. The Jamboree Commentators aid the attendees in navigating through the extraordinary works presented in the competition. They select and share highlights of the journey, inviting the community to be dazzled with them. They are iGEM alumni applying their passion and expertise in Synthetic Biology and will be live on our main stage or on iGEM TV Live on the My iGEM App throughout the Competition Weekend (November 14-16), broadcasting 15-minute sessions in different languages. I'm a senior student of Biotechnology Engineering. I’m Director of Content of the Biotechnology Engineering Student’s Council of Tec de Monterrey. Together with some amazing people, I coordinate Nanobiotechtalks, a series of nanobiotechnology webinars.

I am from Mexico City, and I'm a biology student at the Faculty of Sciences of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) I belong to the Synthetic Biology group in the Biomedical Research Institute where I do my undergraduate thesis.

I’m one of the iGEM Ambassadors to Latin America based in Brazil. Also, I’m an undergraduate student in Biochemical Engineering at the University of São Paulo.

I am an educator and citizen scientist that utilizes principles of biomimicry and traditional ecological knowledge through applied mycology to develop regenerative solutions for many of the environmental challenges that impact our world.

I am Ryo NIWA and a 1st year of Master student at Kyoto University, Japan. I got my BSc of Applied Biological Sciences and experienced bacterial genome assembly of traditional fermented food. I am now focusing on the genome engineering of iPS cells.

Sankalpa Venkatraghavan
I'm a fourth-year undergraduate majoring in biological engineering at IIT Madras and I've participated in the 2019 and 2018 editions of iGEM as a student leader and member respectively. I'm interested in utilizing computational modeling with experimental approaches to study developmental processes.

I completed both my Bachelor and Master of Medical Science in Biomedicine at Karolinska Institute, Sweden. I previously worked on cancer vaccine at Osaka University and on PDGF signaling in cancer at Karolinska Institute. Currently, I’m under training for being a medical doctor at the University of Groningen.

Keane to learn about life itself, I studied Biochemistry in the UK and then Biofabrication at Utrecht University, where I also participated in the first Utrecht University iGEM team. Leveraging the power of cells I believe will result in a more sustainable future, and I'm keen to see what the world of iGem has gotten up to this year.
